The Southern Cross wasn't intended to always be a round trip. The turnaround was built so that it could be expanded into a station and a sign visible from the turnaround made reference to Southwest Territory being built in 1979. The Southwest Territory section didn't come into existence until the 1996 season - 13 years after the Southern Cross was removed. |
