DENVER — Six Flags Elitch Gardens is making world history with the unveiling of a first-of-its kind flying roller coaster. Guests will get a bird's eye view of the Rockies and the city skyline on the park's newest addition, The Flying Coaster. The coaster's elite design technology and exclusive track layout combine to deliver a roller coaster ride that is as thrilling as it is fun.

This one-of-a-kind thrill is perfect for Guests who want to be the first in the world to experience a ride like this. They'll flat out FLY!" says park spokesman, Eric Curry.
This unique prototype will thrill coaster enthusiasts because of its creative flight pattern. Riders enter the ride, step into the unique safety harness, are secured into place and then tip forward into the flying position, ready for a sensational airborne experience. Guests begin to take flight as they spiral to the top of the signature, sweeping lift. Passengers then feel the realistic effect of personal flight: sloping, looping and twisting. During their flight, passengers experience a constant change of acceleration as they smoothly travel through cork screws, diving and climbing along the coaster's track.
The Flying Coaster is a one-of-a-kind design by the Italian ride manufacturer, Zamperla. Construction began in late winter 2002 with a public opening scheduled for late spring.
