6/12/1949  The park is founded by Lester Ottaway and two sons Herb Ottaway and Harold Ottaway.
1950s  Park founder Lester Ottaway (father of Herb & Harold) dies.  A third brother Eddie Ottaway is involved with the part at this time.
1960s  Harold Ottaway retires from the park business in the late 1960s.  The other two brothers may have retired at the same time making this when Stanley and Margaret Nelson took ownership of the park.
5/2003  David Rohr purchases the park and establishes Rohr Enterprises to operate the park.  Rohr had previously worked for the park for 13 years before leaving in 1992 for the restaurant industry.  He returned in 1999 as general manager and took over the lease purchase agreement in 2000.  This purchase seems to be more complex that it appears as stories indicate that simultaneously Rohr owned the park while the Nelson's still held the note on Joyland.
9/2/2003  Park founder Harold Ottaway dies at 85 years old.
2004  Presumably be default on leases/loans by Rohr Enterprises, ownership of Joyland returns to Stanley and Margaret Nelson.  They do not reopen the park, but rather offer it for sale.

4/13/2007  Joyland's chief operating officer Robert Barnard announces Joyland will not open for the 2007 season sighting problems with the city of Wichita being the cause.
