Seattle, WA: Enchanted Parks, which includes Wild Waves and Enchanted Village, announced today it will be part of the Six Flags family of parks. Six Flags, Inc. acquired the greater Seattle area amusement park for $19.3 million.
“We are excited to join the Six Flags family,” said Jeff Stock, CEO of Enchanted Parks. “Six Flags is a well-respected worldwide theme park company known for innovation and top-notch operations. We look forward to taking advantage of Six Flags’ industry expertise and resources to maximize the guest experience at our park.”
Six Flags owns and operates 37 theme and water parks in the United States, Mexico and Europe. The Enchanted Parks is the company’s 29th park in the United States and the first in the Pacific Northwest. The company owns two water parks and two theme parks in California.
“The Enchanted Parks is a terrific new addition to our Six Flags Family. It profiles in terms of size and scope with several of our non-branded Six Flags properties in other parts of the country,” commented Gary Story, Six Flags President.
The acquisition also gives Six Flags a presence in one of the world’s most vibrant markets, Seattle/Tacoma. “A number of factors are taken into consideration when acquiring a park. The size and economic strength of a market is very important,” Story said. “Without a doubt, the strong economic barometers of the area were a major plus in bringing this transaction together.”
No plans were announced to add new rides and attractions to the Park. “The management team at Six Flags is recognized for moving in a thoughtful and careful manner with its properties,” Stock said. “They see Enchanted Parks as a community park, nestled in a charming setting with excellent Interstate access from Seattle and Tacoma.”
He continued, “The biggest immediate benefit perhaps will be tapping into Six Flags’ powerhouse marketing and creative capabilities. The company has a history of leading the industry with ingenious and exciting promotional programs.”
Six Flags, Inc. is the world’s largest regional theme park company with a total of 37 parks throughout the United States, Europe and Latin America. Six Flags parks serve 19 of the 25 largest metropolitan areas in the United States. The parks annually host approximately 50 million guests worldwide.
