Pleasure Beach, Blackpool fans will be sold on a fantastic new idea to raise funds for children around the world. Up to one hundred one-off items from every department of Britain's favourite, free tourist attraction are going under the hammer in a gavel-smashing charity memorabilia auction to be held in the Horseshoe on Sunday May 16th from 12 noon in support of children's charity UNICEF - one of Pleasure Beach, Blackpool's nominated charities.
Exciting lots up for grabs on the day will include Irn Bru Revolution car bodies, a vintage car, Eclipse and Hot Ice memorabilia, Nordic heads from Valhalla boats, old Mr Funshine signs, a log flume boat, a piece of Pepsi Max Big One track, dodgem cars, ride signs, ride wheels and height boards. We're even going to auction off Richard Rodriguez' famous Big Dipper seat which he sat in for an amazing 2,000 hours in 2000 to make the Guinness World Record!
The bidding fun starts at 12 noon (doors open at 11am) in the Horseshoe in the Casino Building, Pleasure Beach, Blackpool and all are welcome. Pleasure Beach, Blackpool MD Geoffrey Thompson OBE says: "This is a great opportunity for theme park enthusiasts, collectors and all our visitors to own a piece of Pleasure Beach, Blackpool history and raise funds for a very worthy cause."
