History:	Kentucky Kingdom started as an expansion of the adjacent State Fair on 10 acres of leased land. This operation wasn't successful and Ed Hart along with additional investors purchased the park and reopened it. After the 1997 season, Premier Parks (owners of Six Flags at that time) purchased the park and renamed it Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom for the 1998 season. This made Kentucky Kingdom the 9th park to use the Six Flags name. In early 2010 Six Flags announced the park would close due to the inability to reach a lease agreement with the state fair board.
