'G'sengte Sau' is a German expression for 'Road Hog'. The expression comes from the world of butchers; when butchering a pig, the butcher first scorches the pig's skin with the butcher's axe to clear the bristley hair. It could happen that the pig got loose right after this scorching and ran like hell to escape. The term came to be used to name fast, wild and uncareful drivers.... like the pig. In literal German, 'Gesengt(e) Sau' means 'Scorched Pig'. |
First roller coaster by Gerstlauer Amusement Rides GmbH. |
Presumably because this was Gerstlauer's first roller coaster, Maurer Rides GmbH is credited with the steel construction. |
Using specially designed inline skates Dirk Auer (world record holder for traveling 270 kph (168 mph) on inline skates) rode / skated this coaster track during it's opening ceremony while carrying a liter of beer. |
