The Cop Car Chase has magnetic brakes. These brakes are positioned vertically and unique when compared to other Intamin sit-down roller coasters which are positioned horizontally. |
The roller coaster's layout ran partially enclosed and partially outdoors. Lethal Weapon pursuit featured a unique and infamous special effect inside one of the buildings, right before the train exited the final building and into the heartline roll. A ramp/track was placed above both tracks over which a burning car was being pulled from one side to the other. This effect was intended to mimic the police car dodging the jumping and burning car resulting in tumbling, hence the immediately following heartline roll. This was a complicated physical special effect and prone to malfunctioning. It was disabled after but a few years of operation. |
When this roller coaster started as 'Lethal Weapon Pursuit', its theme was based on the 'Lethal Weapon' movie franchise in general and the movie 'Lethal Weapon 3' in particular. |
