|The rcdb defines the Banana Roll a single inversion Cobra Roll. The difference being how much “un-inversion” occurs at the midpoint. The following logic attempts to explains this and it applies to other inversions such as the Double Inverting Stall and the Maxx Dive Loop.|
The magic number rcdb uses to determine when a roll or bank becomes an inversion is 135° which comes from 90° + 45° -- the halfway point between on your side and fully inverted. With multi-inversion elements such as the Cobra Roll, there needs to be a point where one element ends and the next begins. The inverse of the prior rule is used for this purpose. This means a second inversion cannot begin until the prior has dropped back down below 45°. The Cobra Roll does this while the Banana Roll does not.
