| Notes: | This roller coaster was originally built for Carthageland in Tunisia were it was to be called "Traversées des Alpes" or "Crossing the Alps" in English. It was in Tunisia where the Carthaginian Empire existed. Carthaginian military commander "Hannibal" wished to make a surprise attack on the Romans by approaching from the west making a flanking movement over the Alps. This meant taking his troops and war elephants over the freezing Alps. It is estimated Hannibal lost nearly half his troops and nearly all of his war elephants. It is this journey and war elephants that inspired the theme of the ride. |
