Etymology

'Fils du Dragon' is French for 'Son of the Dragon'.
'Fort des Pirates' is French for 'Pirates' Fort'.

History

The park closed down Dragon Chinois to replace it with Défi du Dragon. In the meantime, they had one less coaster in their lineup. To compensate, they added this coaster entry. Since it is a smaller coaster type than the removed Dragon Chinois, they decided on naming it 'Fils du Dragon', French for 'Son of the Dragon' or 'Dragon's Son'.
Once the new coaster opened, they removed the Fils du Dragon. Due to popular demand, the park decided on bringing back the ride in a refurbished and rethemed pirate area and call it 'Fort des Pirates'.

Notes

The train was replaced.

Theme

This coaster was part of an Asian themed park area and hence called 'Fils du Dragon'. Part of the Asian area has been redesigned and rethemed to have a pirate theme from the 2026 season on. The coaster was rethemed to 'Fort des Pirates' and given a new look and a new train.
