The park had an attraction called the "Silver Bullet" which was described in the May 20th, 1984 edition of the Asheville Citizen Times as "an exhilarating roller coaster that barrels 900 feet down the face of Ghost Mountain through a pond, under the chair lift and between trees". Another newspaper calls it a "Monorail Coaster". This information presumably comes from a park flyer that states "There's new excitement at Ghost Town this year. It's the SILVER BULLET. A monorail that's full of incredible sensations. You don't go on. You get in. You sit yourself down deep, close to the ground. And then it begins. Head-spinning, heart pounding, mind-blowing thills. 18 inches off the ground. Streaking through the woods and dodging trees, smashing into the water, at an incredible 50 miles per hour. Flying at 45 degrees. Pulling 1.3 G's. Shooting right off the face of the mountain. A shattering experience. You'll love it." What exactly this was is still being researched. |
