| The Forest Park Miniature Railroad was built as part of Forest Park Rides in 1959. At that time, it was the longest miniature railway in the world. In the 1980s the Fort Worth Zoo expanded into the amusement ride portion of Forest Park. This was the end of the amusement rides, but a new station for the miniature railway was built about ¼ to the north and the miniature railway remains in operation. |
