Suburban Park ran the following ad in the September 23rd, 1950 issue of Billboard: ROLLER COASTER FOR SALE Will sell only Coaster in park in Central New York (Syracuse) for $5,000. Give long- term lease to buyer who will install new track, cars and front estimated cost of $20,000. Present upright structure in good condition, built as straight-away; about 1800' side-friction track to be replaced with modern under-friction type. Write or phone FRED W. SEARLE, Mgr. Suburban Park Manlius, N.Y. Phone 2-4811 Photos from the mid-1970s show the Comet's track and cars were a side-friction design. If the advert was referencing the Comet, the proposed conversion to a under-friction design never occurred. |
