| Six Flags New Orleans was badly damaged with the passing of hurricane Katrina from August 26 to August 29 2005. Park management assessed the damage to be too extensive and decided on not reopening the park. Some rides were moved to other parks within the group. In 2021, Bayou Phoenix started with the redevelopment of the site and cleared out all of the remaining park rides and structures. The site was cleared by March 2026. |
